According to the official, the world has established several free trade zones to organize economic opportunities; therefore, there are nearly 5,000 sorts of free trade zones around the globe.
As to regional progress, he mentioned that the United Arab Emirates has set up 15 free trade zones since 1985.
The Chabahar Free Zone planned to be part of the World Free Zones Organization in order to enjoy successful experiences of other free trade zones, Miri said, adding that Chabahar succeeded in attaining the membership of the organization in 2021, because the United States' withdrawal from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal postponed its membership.
